Celebrating The Holidays With A Hachiya Express Website Redesign

We had been discussing a website redesign with the team at Hachiya Express while working through a few updates to their brand style guide and our Best of the Grand Strand campaign in the spring. We decided that when we began working on their 2023 Holiday Season campaign we would include a website redesign to reflect the holiday season and support their 2023 holiday campaign. We knew this would be a good opportunity to rebuild and redesign their website using the Growth-Driven Design method to build a strong foundation which would allow us to build a strong marketing platform they were in control of.

Growth-Driven Design: Building A Strong Foundation

Recognizing the need for Hachiya Express to have a dynamic and adaptable website, the Growth-Driven Design (GDD) methodology was chosen as the guiding force for the website redesign. GDD offers a flexible, iterative approach that aligns seamlessly with Hachiya Express’s commitment to continuous improvement.

The goals set for this website redesign go beyond the surface, diving into the core infrastructure. This includes adding new styling elements that resonate with Hachiya Express’s brand identity and the holiday season, updating individual page content and the menu to reflect the latest items and information, and streamlining the website by removing unnecessary files, photos, and pages that were slowing it down. We also were able to update the core files without disrupting the website version that was viewed by the public in order to improve overall security.

We started with building a customer funnel that was simple to navigate for users and easy to update by our team. We then updated the site’s core files so that as interests and algorithms change, we would be able to adapt quickly and efficiently while maintaining the site’s security through any new landing pages or copyedits.

  1. Infrastructure Upgrade:
    • Hachiya Express had a great website. However, on the hosting side there were a bunch of old pages, files and media that were unnecessary and potentially causing the site to perform slower than it could. This can adversely affect SEO.
    • We upgraded the core files, implementing the latest technologies for improved performance and security.
  2. Styling Elements Refresh:
    • We’ve been trying different ideas with colors that match with Hachiya Express’s core brand and really liked how different green & peach tones looked against the red and black, and matched perfectly with the holiday theme. We also found a few holiday fonts, imagery and built holiday backgrounds to include as styling elements of the holiday theme.
    • These changes are intended to elevate the visual aesthetics to create a seamless and engaging user experience.
  3. Content and Menu Overhaul:
    • We updated individual landing page content to be simple and easy to navigate so that customers can get to the landing pages they want to visit faster.
    • We updated the menu landing page to be user-friendly and visually appealing.
  4. Streamlining for Efficiency:
    • There were a lot of old files & media on the previous website. After conducting a thorough audit to identify and eliminate unnecessary files, photos, and pages we noticed an improvement in the website’s load speed and navigation.
    • Improving website navigation for a more intuitive user experience.
